A PbTA game, World of Adventure looks to capture the spirit of fast-paced, lurid pulp fiction at the gaming table. Taking inspiration from cheap magazines, pulp novel series, Republic Serials and golden age comic books, Worlds of Adventure looks to present fast-paced, sometimes absurd action for twisting, genre-bending adventures and striking characters.
World of Adventure includes:
* a genre-based homage to pulp fiction, comic books and adventure serials. Base your characters around genres of fiction you want to represent them (Adventures in Science, Comics Action, True Detective, Crime Doesn't Pay, and more!), and ensconce them in the myriad tropes that make will entrench them in the world of classical pulpy adventure (Calling Cards, Gals Friday, Youthful Wards and more). Options encourage unique heroes that can both fill and bend genre conventions!
* Plotline generation that follows the pulp formula of Lester Dent, creator of Doc Savage and one of pulp's most prolific pens! Put together your own pulp perils using a simple formula, to get right down to the down and dirty of adventuring!
* Moves that echo the two-fisted feel of pulps! Engage in Fisticuffs with trained murder monks of hidden cities, or get in a Donnybrook with a gang of ghost pirates near the Bermuda triangle!
* Adventure-based gameplay. Start each scene with a player rolling to see just how much trouble the characters are in-- persistent dangers and backs against the wall drive gameplay, keeping the action moving forward! Even when all seems lost and characters are in over their heads in Peril, a Dramatic Cliffhanger can have them coming out the other side looking for more!
* Develop dastardly supervillains to challenge groups of retro adventurers, or use the Going Solo chapter, complete with prompts and tables that will encourage their own twisting, two-fisted tales!

Okay, how about Decimator Smith from the Black Pulp anthology as a character.
He's someone who could rival Doc Savage and The Shadow!
Just looked into that one- I need to get a copy of that anthology! Looks like a fun character to start out with the Thrilling Sports Story genre, but would easily branch out from there. Thanks for the suggestion!
